Suburban Friendship League

The Suburban Friendship League logo. The motto is 'For the Good of the Players'.

The Suburban Friendship League (SFL) has been operating since the Fall 1990 season providing scheduling services for recreational soccer teams. The league's charter and decisions are based on whether the result is for the good of the players. During the spring and fall seasons, the SFL provides scheduling services to over 475 teams representing almost 30 different clubs. The primary age groups covered are the Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, and Under 19 Boys and Girls. You may send us an Email (see below) to obtain additional information.

Player Registration and Team Assignment Information

The SFL does not handle player registration or team assignments. If you have a question on how to register a player or how to determine the team assignment for a player, please contact your club. Our web site (
Links to Club Sites) has the web sites for several of the member clubs.

Roster Requirements

As noted on the first page of the season package, the cover letter, and Section II of the rules, each team, regardless of age group, is required to provide a copy of their roster to the other team BEFORE the start of the game. Failure to provide a roster may result in a forfeit (see Section II.C.8). It has come to our attention that several teams have shown up at the field without a roster. Please make sure that your team is not the one that is assessed a forfeit by making sure that several people on your team have a copy. During the tournament, it is an automatic forfeit if you do not have a roster.
